DanceFest In Stamford

The Dancefest festival brings together students and instructors from 20 dance studios for a two-weekend workshop and performance

The festival offers workshops in modern, contemporary, tap, Latin jazz, ballet and hip-hop. On Saturday afternoon, choreographer Kristin Sudeikis was on stage teaching a large group of adolescent dancers a contemporary routine. Sudeikis, who has worked as a choreographer for the NBC sitcom "30 Rock" and was a featured dancer for the pop singer Mariah Carey, led the students through fast-paced, ab-crunching floor work as "Partition" by Beyonce blared from the sound system. The group then quickly transitioned to a slower, ballet-based routine danced to John Legend's 2013 song "All of Me."
